‘Remembering Columbia’ Museum to host speaker from NASA

HEMPHILL, TX – The Patricia Huffman Smith NASA Museum is excited to host NASA speaker Todd Hellner on May 16, 2014.

Hellner currently works as an Increment Manager in the Space Station Program at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston and is responsible for leading an international team that develops the plans and requirements for the activities that will take place on the Space Station that’s orbiting the Earth 250-miles above the Earth’s surface.

His job involves 18-months of planning and development followed by working 6-months in the Mission Control Center executing the plan.

Hellner has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.

He has spent the past 23 years involved in human spaceflight at the Johnson Space Center, having spent time working on the Space Shuttle Program, the Space Station Program, and the Orion Program.

Hellner will be at the museum speaking from 9:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on May 16.
