Volunteer

Our team of dedicated volunteers are the lifeblood of the mission behind the ‘Remembering Columbia’ Museum.

Since the inception of the ‘Remembering Columbia’ in 2010, our volunteers have embodied the motto, “Their Mission Became Our Mission.” Without the gift of their passion and service, our museum couldn’t exist.

We have numerous opportunities to get involved today!

Who can volunteer?

‘Remembering Columbia’ Museum volunteers come from all walks of life. Anyone with a servant’s heart and a little time can volunteer, from high school and college students, to professionals and retirees.

How can I help?

Volunteers can make a real difference in a number of areas. Depending on their availability, interests, and skills, our team will connect prospective volunteers with a project or need that best aligns with those intentions. Examples include:

  • Museum docent/tour guide
  • Event support (gala planning/set-up, golf tournament, annual memorial planning, museum events)
  • Historical research
  • Exhibit, archives preservation
  • Curriculum development for school groups, special events
  • Building maintenance
  • Grant writing/fundraising
  • Photography/videography
  • Facilitating student art projects
  • Clerical/operations support
